Austin Prep has two dress codes: the warm weather dress and the winter dress. The shirt that the students have to wear is not breathable, very stiff, and very uncomfortable. It can often create a distraction from learning because of the starchy fabric that can often overheat students. This petition would be in favor of wearing the polo shirts all year round because they are more comfortable, do not create a distraction, and create an easier work environment for students.
We, the students, call on Austin Prep’s administration to allow the upper school to wear warm weather dress year round, therefore banning Oxford shirts from the everyday uniform attire.
