Police brutality against Indigenous people

3% of Indigenous people make up the Australian population, where as 29% of them make up the prison population. Why is it that more of them make up the prison population than Australia as a whole? Because of police brutality. It is the excessive and unwarranted use of force by law enforcement, and is considered an extreme form of police misconduct and is a civil rights violation. If this is the case, then why is no one preventing it? Why are we losing people from our Indigenous communities, such as Cameron Doomadgee? We need to start realising as a society that this is a serious problem. If we keep loosing indigenous people, who will speak for them? Sign our petition to help stop the abuse of indigenous people.
