The Australian people should be given the chance to say whether they wish to live in an Australian republic, with an Australian head of state, without being asked to also make a decision, initially, as to just what form that republic might take.
This petition aims to persuade Federal lawmakers to gve Australians the chance to have their say on this issue: something Australians have never had the opportunity to do before.
We, the undersigned, call on the Australian Government to initiate a plebiscite of all Australian people on whether they wish for Australia to become a republic with an Australian head of state.
