#Ridesharing drivers
Target:
Uber
Region:
United States of America

The following are a few disagreements and annoyances that we, the drivers of your ride-sharing services, have with certain aspects of your platform, which we consider are very unfair to us.

That's why, in addition to giving a list of such requests, we present what we consider to be successful solutions towards creating better working conditions for the drivers, and to continue providing an excellent service to your passengers.

Hereby we present our requests. We believe it will be beneficial to all involved in this service.

List of Demands for Ride Sharing Services (UBER)
1. Fare adjustment for all UBER’s services (uberX, uberPool, uberXl, LUX and LUX SUV) forced in October 2014. The current scheme of travel costs, it is not monetarily affordable for drivers.

1.1 Minimum living wage: Fares according to living costs (Health, housing, food among others) at the different types of five star services offered. Rates cannot decrease as living costs increase.
-Substantial wear and depreciation of vehicles.
-Fixed expenses: maintenance, gas, cleaning and clothing among others.

1.2 UberPool fare adjustment: To share a vehicle and provide a service to more than one rider involves additional costs and it does not involve additional earnings. In contrast, it promotes working longer, make more trips for less money at reduced rates.
1.3 Add the gratuity option, offering the rider the option of thanking the drivers monetary for a five-star service.

2. UberPool: Regulation of services in the city and removal from the airports and ports
2.1 Multi riders service (uberPool) operational drawbacks at airports and ports.
-There is no dedicated parking area for ride sharing service.
- Harassment from the airport police and port authorities.
- Waiting queue and punishment for refusing to provide uberPool service.
- Space available in trunk for multiple riders with several luggages.

2.2 Multi riders’ service (uberpool) General operational drawbacks
- The service is not worth it, because drivers have to carry more passengers, drive more distance and drive longer. Drivers are earning less money in most rides because Uber has set a reduced fare for this service. A multiple uberpool ride, sometimes represent more money than a regular uberX, however, it is absolutely insignificant, besides it is not taken in consideration the extra expenses mentioned above making null the benefit of carrying more people.
- The negative effect that the acceptance rate has against drivers, when they refuse to provide the service.
- The negative effect of the rating due to several misunderstandings among passengers and the ignorance of what Pool is and how multi rider service works.

3. Driver's Commissions
3.1 All drivers must have the same 20% commission regardless of the time they joined the company. We (drivers) currently are active supporters of your brand. This country believes in equality. All current drivers have been actively supporting your brand.

4. Fair and clear contractual agreements
4.1 Agreements should be bilateral; the contractor must have freedom to provide the ride at will, without any kind of retaliation when the service is not provided. The acceptance and the five star service rates are being used as labor harassment.
- Threats of deactivation due to failing to maintain a minimum acceptance rate. Ride sharing companies are constantly sending emails and warning messages.
- By rejecting uberpool services, in the virtual line FIFO (first in – first out) at airports, drivers are punished for a period of time and sent to the last position of the line.
- Drivers rating are subject various factors, such as race, nationality, language, religion, political views. This includes other things like passenger’s mood, passenger’s age, passenger’s whims (smoking, temperature, loud music, drug use, etc.) blood alcohol content (BAC) and intoxication level with illegal substances, however, ride sharing service insist in rating us through this system and threaten us with deactivation by failing to maintain a minimum rating. For example, Uber deactivates their drivers and makes them pay an exaggerated sum of money for a course in order to reactivate them.

5. Driver Safety
5.1 Security camera is a must.
- The passenger's safety is as important as the drivers, however, complaints from drivers against passengers misconduct (sexual harassment, smoking, vomiting, bad manners, etc) are not taken into consideration. There are passenger with ratings of 3.9 and below, whereas, drivers require rating of 4.68 in order to keep the account active.
- Drug dealer, burglars, sexual deviants and other mentally ill people are using Uber accounts to comit crimes, putting our safety at risk.
- Stolen cards and fake information are being used for the ride sharing service.

5.2 Long working hours are exposing us to more occupational hazards.
- The fare reduction has led to work more hours in order to earn the same money. This means fewer hours of rest, with potential to more danger in the roads for drivers, passenger and pedestrians.
- A regular full time driver has to work between 14-16 hours a day and between 75-85 hours a week to guarantee a minimum living wage.

Sincerely,

Uber Drivers Florida.
