A friend of mine has been subjected to shocking racial abuse by neighbours. After many attempts to understand, mediate, ignore and finally to deal with this situation without success, we have decided to approach both Victorian and Australian Federal Governments in an attempt to facilitate a law against such racial abuse, and to have penalties imposed against those who break such laws.
We, the undersigned, would like to see laws implemented which state that it is a criminal offence to verbally or physically racially abuse another person.
We would like to see a penalty of at least $5000 imposed on those who break this law.
