Kentucky Power customers pay the second highest rates in America. Tariffs and Surcharges are approximately 25% of our electric bills, plus we have a 30.19% poverty rate that puts a huge burden on Kentucky Power customers. As AEP continues to make poor business decisions, they rely on recovering that cost off of the backs of the poverty stricken and the economically challenged communities of Southeastern Kentucky. The unethical business model that is establishing precedent by AEP needs to be investigated and eliminated now before it provides more opportunity for devastation to Appalachian Families.
We, the undersigned Customers of Kentucky Power, A Unit of American Electric Power (AEP), petition Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear to audit the Kentucky Power Company at every aspect of their businesses in Kentucky.
