The Ole Miss Student Senate has recently unanimously voted to remove a Confederate statue from campus. Even though we may understand the background behind SGA's decision to remove the statue, this does not mean we agree with it. As members of the Ole Miss alumni, we are looking for those who believe the statue should not be relocated as it is a historic symbol. We are asking that anyone who is against the relocation of the statue would sign this petition as we believe we have a voice too and the student government does not speak for all of us.
We, Ole Miss alumni, along with many others are requesting that the University of Mississippi refrains from relocating the Confederate statue.
