Since the LRT project was forced on the citizens of Ottawa/Gatineau, It has been a less than transparent process. And a result of the mismanagement of the project, the people are now suffering. Travel to and from work/school is now taking as much as an hour longer to travel... Each Way!
On top of everything, the city raised the transit tax by an extra 1% to cover the lost revenue. And now, the city has unveiled a 3% tax increase on the people and are set to increase transit prices in January. People have had enough!
It is my thought that Mayor Jim Watson, all city councillors and John Manconi (OC Transpo Boss) should no longer receive a paycheque until the issues at OC Transpo are fixed. This may be an extreme measure, well, these are extreme circumstances.
I guarantee things would move a lot quicker once the people who put us in this situation started to pay for their mistakes.
