With the ARL's decision not to support a North v South or Auckland origin series in New Zealand, then surely the time has come for the NZRL to drop International contact with Australia and maybe even Great Britain who haven't been seen on New Zealand shores for years.
While this may seem like a radical move, all the huffing and puffing out of NZRL HQ has done little to change the Australians' attitudes to any demands the NZRL might have.
If New Zealand are to have their own origin series, this surely will stop New Zealand born players playing for NSW, Qld and even possibly Australia.
By New Zealand having its own origin series, this will surely create more depth in its squad.
