Dear Norwegian pilots,
As you are aware, Norwegian has recently opened FCO base it Italy. The NPG pilot associations recently wrote to NAR Italy to determine their intention concerning union representation for the pilots based in Italy.
This unusual action was taken because it was rumoured that NAR Italy may enter recognition talks with a union other than ANPAC.
ANPAC is the European Cockpit Association affiliate pilot union and is the union the vast majority of the FCO based pilots have chosen to represent them.
The NPG unions (BALPA, NPU, NPUF, SEPLA, ANPAC) object to NAR Italy entering into recognition talks with any union other than ANPAC, the pilots chosen representative body.
As we have not received confirmation from NAR Italy of their intention, we are calling on all Norwegian pilots to help in a simple demonstration of support and solidarity.
All the pilot associations within the Norwegian network are conducting the same exercise simultaneously.
We are asking for you to send a strong message to the airline and NAR Italy by signing the petition below which has been set up by the ECA.
