Brandywood Apartments were torn down and the space turned into a new park in Pasadena, Texas. It would be a great honor for this new park to be named for City of Pasadena Volunteer Firefighter, Mike Mays, who was stricken by cancer and taken from us way too early.

He volunteered his time and expertise as a firefighter to the citizens of his home community, and as if that was not enough, he become an officer in the volunteer fire department. That means more responsibility, and for no pay, just job satisfaction.

Even as he battled cancer, he always worked with the same tenacity, always leading from the front, and when the job was done, was quick with a smile until the very end.

It would be an awesome tribute to an equally awesome man to have a park where all who visit would think of Mike, and even better if there were a form of remembrance for ALLof Pasadena’s public servants who have been taken from the ranks too soon.

Mayor Johnny Isbell stated, "We discussed the possibility of not naming the park Brandywood Park. Anyone have any suggestions of a good name for the park?"

Please sign this petition to let Mayor Isbell know that you support naming the park after Pasadena Volunteer Firefighter/Captain Mike Mays.
