I am initiating a petition to the United States House of Representatives - Rep. Bill Foster, D-IL, to recommend an act for Congress to name the U.S. Post Office in Paw Paw, Illinois in honor of (Mrs.) Alice Fitch Zeman of Paw Paw.
Please sign the petition seen below. Eventually, this list of petitioners will be presented to Congressman Foster,
and an Act of Congress will be written (and hopefully voted upon) to honor Alice. Alice knows nothing about this....so let's keep it as a surprise to her.
You may already know that Alice has recently received honors for her many efforts- a Telly Award for her video documentary entitled "Paw Paw, Past - Present - Future", a certificate of merit from the Illinois State Historical Society and a Star Award from the Lee County Tourism Commission. The authoress of several books, Alice continues to enrich our lives in the community in her participation is MANY cultural, civic and charitable events. She is a workhorse! I know of no one more fitting to have a U.S. office named for her. The entire Paw Paw Area is most fortunate to know Alice!

This is a petition for Illinois residents to recommend to the United States House of Representives, an act to name Paw Paw, Illinois Post Office (61353) in honor of local resident, Alice Fitch Zeman. Mrs. Zeman is a vital member of the Paw Paw community in civic, charitable and cultural activities in Paw Paw.
She is a noted author of historic biographies, and has received honors from the Illinois State Historical Society, Lee County Tourism Commission and a Telly Award for her involvement in documentary production.
Mrs. Zeman is a journalist writing columns and articles for several local newpapers.
