July 21st, 2004 started off like any other day.

Except that it wasn't.

In a tightly contested, in-division battle with the Baltimore Orioles, little did we know that we would soon be witnesses to history. David Newhan would hit a deep-fly ball to center, where Johnny Damon would fail to field the ball cleanly.

Chasing the ball down, Johnny picks up the ball, and begins his throw to no one in particular. And then it happened: Manny Ramirez, like a gazelle fresh from the clutches of a Lion, leaps across, and cuts off Johnny's attempted relay.

From there, Manny would make an almost-equally hilarious attempt to relay to Bellhorn, who would then drive a ball to the backside of the mound, eventually allowing an inside-the-park homerun.

For an organization filled with iconic moments, I believe some should never be forgotten. Outside of TD Garden, there is a statue of Bobby Orr's famous dive. And I believe it's high-time this City of Champions finally received another..

We, Sports Fans Everywhere, call on the Boston Red Sox Organization to erect a Manny Ramirez, Cut-Off Throw Diving Statue, outside of Fenway Park.
