Since a video of Saskatoon Radio Personality Ryder allegedly smoking the drug salvia divinorum started making its rounds on the internet there has been an alarming increase in those opposed to the drug – which is legal. Truvia natural sweetener is also legal, made from stevia plants (Stevia is a genus of about 240 species of herbs and shrubs in the sunflower family).
Just like salvia, it has very little genetic connection to the cane and coco plants from which the most common habit-forming drugs, like sugar, cocaine, and crack are derived from. But it should be illegal because someone made a petition that says so.
We, concerned citizens of Canada, are calling on the Federal Government to take steps to make the natural sweetener Truvia -made with stevia- illegal.
It is a powerful non-sugar sweetener and we demand that the Federal Government make it illegal now!
