We, the undersigned users and enjoyers of Arsenal Park, draw the attention of Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, City of Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh City Council to the following:
- THAT, Garbage, broken glass, dog waste, weeds, and fallen leaves are an everyday nuisance
- Arsenal Park has not been renovated in nearly 20 years
- Every hard surface in the park is crumbling and unsafe
- The nearly 200 year old historic structures are not being maintained and are deteriorating
- There is no running water including bathrooms, drinking fountains or historic pond
- Residents feel unsafe using the park in the evening
THEREFORE, your petitioners request the City of Pittsburgh to establish a regular maintenance schedule for Arsenal Park and to devote capital funds for improving the poor condition of the facilities to a manner fitting for an historic landmark and recreational facility beloved by all residents of the City of Pittsburgh and surrounding metropolitan area.
