Dear Members of the Ma'di Community in Australia,
The Ma'di community is one of the growing new communities in Australia, yet there hasn't been a forum to bring this community together in one place to celebrate our identity and discuss issues of concern to us.
We the Ma’di community in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Canberra is proposing to host the first Convention possibly in December 2014 and all are invited. The Convention shall rotate in all states and territories and the next host shall be decided by the community by then.
The convention is focused on the family. As such, the programs and activities at the convention will address the needs of children, youth, women, men, parents and grandparents.
The Convention is intended to celebrate our identity, cultural heritage and traditional values. This way, we will be able to retain our precious tradition and pass it on to our younger generation.
The convention will also provide a forum for dialogue, panel discussions, small group workshops, trade fairs, sporting events, networking among other things.
