Inglewood property tax is extremely high and there is no cap. Some property taxes are $9000 a year and counting. Pretty soon the taxes will be too much to afford to keep living in Inglewood. My property tax pays the pension for the city employees. I also have learned that some of the city officials make more then then the state officials. This should not be. With the new NFL Stadium and the Clippers Organization coming to Inglewood, this should be enough revenue to pay the officials so our taxes may be lowered.
In a city of approximately 112k people here is a list of the salaries of Inglewood’s top officials compared to the State of California’s top officials:
State of California Governor Gavin Newsom makes $209,747 per year.
Inglewood City Manager Artie Fields makes $ 353, 072 per year
(sources report his bonuses exceeding 150k)
The Attorney General in California annual salary is $182,189 and
Inglewood’s City Attorney makes $296, 725 per year
California Secretary of State earns $ 157,310 per year and
Inglewood Police Chief earned $307,773
