Legalize drugs in the UK

I think it is just stupid to ban these things, it is far easier to go and buy illegal real ecstacy pills or other drugs from real criminals. No matter what the government bans next drugs are here to stay and are a part of modern society if you like it or not. Lots of illegal drugs are not made up of the chemicals people think they are taking.

Ecstacy is supposed to be made from MDMA, yet many pills on the street contain no MDMA what so ever. Many people who have died from taking ecstacy have infact died from taking an entirely different substance all together.

So why let criminals continue to profit from the drugs trade (which is said to be the most profitable trade in the world). Banning more substances only makes more money for the criminals and that's just a fact that has to be swallowed. If the government made drugs legal people would want to buy the legal stuff because that way they would know what they were taking. The organised crime world would take its biggest blow in history. Kids should be taught more about drugs and told "when your 18, it is your choice if you want to take drugs or drink, but you know the risks and how to be safe" IT IS YOUR CHOICE! Making drugs illegal and telling kids the old "drugs are bad" line just doesn't work. If drugs were legal people could know the precise dose they should take to stay safe and the shops that sold them could also educate those who choose to take mind altering substances. It would save many countless lives.

When will people learn that banning substances does not make them go away! Isn't that well and truly obvious by now??
