When you think of Lagos, what is the first colour that comes to mind? If you answered yellow, you are 100% right! This is not by chance. This is has everything to do with the psychology of the city and how the yellow transportation systems symbolize adaptability, affordability and history. The same is true of red London buses, and yellow taxis of New York.
If these colours were to change overnight, it tampers with the identity of the city. The plan by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to change the colour of Lagos Danfos to blue and white, while discontinuing the fleet of Danfos is poor change management strategy, at a time when taxes have been rising for Lagosians!
@TheYellowOfLagos is appealing to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, and associated state-level administrations to #KeepTheYellow and #UpgradeTheDanfo. By this petition, we welcome the idea that change must take place on our streets, but we will not accept a misplacement of our identity through tampering of the colour that binds us.
