The role of our Lollipop Lady for Brindishe Manor School, Leahurst Road, SE13 is being made redundant due to budget cuts.
The impact of losing our lollipop lady on the community will be huge. The corner of Fernbrook and Manor Lane is extremely busy with vehicles rushing to get onto the south circular. Our lollipop lady manages to keep these vehicles under control. Her presence is imperative for the safety of our children. She has a very important role for parents, children, and the general public whilst she mans the road.
The goal is to keep our lollipop lady in her role. We need to ensure that there is funding to keep the position filled,
The junction at Fernbrook and Manor Lane is very busy, it is imperative to have a Lollipop Lady there to protect our children, parents and wider community.
There are many documented incidents where cars aggressively try to push their way around families trying to get to and from school. Trucks, buses, and bicycles all pass through here. Having the presence of an authority figure really helps to keep order at a very busy junction.
