Saint Patrick Catholic School burned down 6 years ago. At that time we started fundraising to rebuild our school.

We raised over $800,000 dollars towards the rebuild. This is in addition to over a million dollars that was paid out for the insurance policy when the school burned down.

We opened the doors to our new building 2 years ago. Now we are being forced to shut our doors because Saint Patrick Church states we have low enrollment. Our current student count is 98. Our building is only capable of holding 150. So we are not significantly low by any means.

Please sign this in hopes of encouraging Father Jose and the Archdiocese of Mobile of changing his mind and keeping the school open as he is the only one who can fix this.

We the parents, teachers, students and community of Saint Patrick Catholic School of Phenix City, Alabama are pleading with Father Jose of Saint Patrick Catholic Church and the Archdiocese of Mobile to reconsider his choice to close our school.

With the school closing we have teachers who are now without jobs, we have students without a school home. We pride ourselves on making a quality Catholic education available for everyone regardless of income, so majority of these families would not be able to afford other local private schools as options.

Our public school system in the area is not one that has a reputation for being accommodating to a lot of the special needs children that Saint Patricks helps everyday.

Please do not do this to our community and more importantly, our kids.
