Greased Pig Contest- Shenandoah Co. Fair

Recently there have been negative opinions expressed about the Greased Pig Contest at the Shenandoah County Fair and there is even a petition circulating in an effort to shut it down. For those who do not know about our event, we support the education of agriculture with local youth by giving them a fun way to learn about agriculture and livestock. Children are given the opportunity to catch a piglet and take it home to raise as their own! The volunteers of this event do everything possible to ensure these animals are not mistreated. Please support this local event and keep agricultural awareness a key factor in our community.
