I have cared for my 5 grandchildren for 12 years with very little help from the state for the children that were in my care.
We The Under Signed Request That Grandparents, Kinship Carers and The Families Children In Their Care In All Australian States Receive The Same Support As Foster Carers Even If There Are No Child Protections Orders On The Children In Their Care.
We also request that children taken into the care of the states be place with a family member as first preference and not placed into foster care or out of home care if there is a Grandparent or other family member able and willing to care for the child/children, family preservation must at all times be first priority as it is in the best interest of all children.
