Over the years the indiscipline of taxi and bus drivers in Jamaica has increased tenfold. They blatantly break road codes, create their own lanes, scrape vehicles, drive on side walks, and act as if the road is theirs and we must all clear the way for them. I have been hit coaster drivers and taxi drivers who speed off once they have done their dirty work. They drive up the wrong side of the road to avoid waiting in a line of traffic, causing severe safety risks for those around them as well as the passengers they carry.
We, the undersigned, call on the Government of Jamaica, to remove route taxis and coaster buses from Jamaica's roads once and for all so that people can drive in peace and safety.
