On Friday 1 July 2011, Aboriginal elders at the Save The Kimberley's road block to James Price Point were fined $100.00 for obstructing the road under the road traffic code in Western Australia.
The elders were aged from 76 to 60 years old. They are blocking the road in order to fulfil their cultural obligations to care for country and maintain their ancestral lands.
We, the undersigned, call on The Duke of Cambridge, to help the Aboriginal Elders in the Kimberley region, Western Australia, to fulfil their cultural obligations to care for and protect their ancestral lands from the Woodside mining company's plan to construct a gas processing plant on the James Price Point site.
