Thank you to everyone who signed petition. The elderly in my care home now receive fresh eggs when they wish. There is now an egg risk assessment form which they or there family sign. I am extremely happy to say that these ladies and gentlemen are now getting their rights and choices. Thanks again to all who supported this campaign. XXX
Elderly clients in care homes have no choice but to accept pasteurised eggs instead of fresh ones.
I have known 90 year olds asking for a nice soft boiled egg only to be told they can't get one.
There is a smoking risk assessment filled in for each client. Why not a fresh egg risk assessment. Then they have a choice to make.
Clients in care homes should have the right to choose if they wish fresh eggs and not pasteurised ones.
