On August 31, 2018, the City of Sanibel permitted the placement of temporary business signage in response to the impact red tide was having on businesses in our community.
This temporary roadside signage proved to be very effective in gaining new business during this economic cataclysm and unfortunately, this offer has been rescinded effective November 14, 2018.
The loss of business (current and future) due to the impact of red tide rivals any previous catastrophe, Businesses have been reporting 70 to 90% revenue loss, compared to last year's sales and this is a loss of business that will not be recoverable.
