In light of the recent suicides of Jenna & Emily [and the many before them], we need to take a stand and take this petition to the school board. Here is what we will be proposing:
1. Children [victims or someone witnessing the bullying] can go anonymously to an adult they trust at school, or parents can call and report the incident.
2. The bully[s] in question WILL BE immediately suspended.
3. If they are reported a second time they are expelled.
4. Schools WILL HAVE ABSOLUTE ZERO tolerance for ANY bullying and will make a daily announcement reminding the students of this and the consequences if they fail to do so.
We, the undersigned, call on the Halifax Regional School Board and all School Boards in Nova Scotia to take action and develop and utilize a zero tolerance policy on bullying.
