Communities Against Delamere's Destruction (CADD) was formed by local residents following notification of a consultation period received from the Forestry Commission.
The Forestry Commission, in conjunction with Forest Holidays have published draft proposals for a holiday village in the northern part of Delamere forest.
The proposals, should they come to fruition, would result in vehicles accessing this part of the forest for the first time ever and would change the way that people are able to enjoy the woodland forevermore.
The scale of what is proposed and the subsequent devastation of wildlife and landscape has resulted in CADD becoming the hub of the fight against these proposals. Please sign our petition AND write to your councillor and MP. We, the undersigned, call upon Cheshire West and Chester Council to prevent any building of holiday lodges or similar in the Kingswood area of Delamere forest on the grounds of sustainability.
Furthermore, we believe that the forest should remain a traffic free environment, with the exception of forestry commission vehicles and visitor access to the centre in Linmere on the grounds of safety.
