Bike lanes support, Encourage and makes cycling a more comfortable experience by reminding drivers about cyclists. It helps remind drivers about cyclists when turning or opening doors. Bike lanes also provide an area for people with wheelchairs to travel where there are no sidewalks or sidewalks are under construction it also provides emergency vehicles space to manure around stopped traffic and with bike lanes it means more cyclists which helps stop global warming.
