Several residents of the SW Bricktown neighborhood have done research regarding the name Ashmeade and the history behind the park.
Having found no history behind the name, the residents would like Ashmeade changed to SW Bricktown.
We, the residents of SW Bricktown Neighborhood, petition the city to change the name of Ashmeade Park to SW Bricktown Park.
SW Bricktown residents are working to beautify and unify their neighborhood. There have been and will continue to be many positive changes occurring in this area. The park is undoubtedly an identifier for the neighborhood and the residents of SW Bricktown.
Changing the name of the park from Ashmeade to SW Bricktown Park is another step in moving this process forward.
We ask you to be a part of the change and bring the name of the park back to the neighborhood as SW Bricktown.
We, SW Bricktown Neighborhood residents, demand the City of Hutchinson to change the name of Ashmead Park to SW Bricktown Park.
