In the last two years, nine union staff have resigned from the Independent Education Union WA branch.
In September this year, a quarter of the staff - four of the most experienced organisers - lodged workers compensation claims citing bullying by the Branch Secretary.
A Provisional Improvement Notice was issued declaring the union a hazardous workplace by the remaining staff in late October.
The Union Secretary is fighting those claims!

Bullying is unacceptable - IEUA WA Branch
In the last two years, nine union staff have resigned from the Independent Education Union WA branch.
In September this year, a quarter of the staff - four of the most experienced organisers - lodged workers compensation claims citing bullying by the Branch Secretary.
A Provisional Improvement Notice was issued declaring the union a hazardous workplace by the remaining staff in late October.
The Union Secretary is fighting those claims!
Despite exploring every option available to them, the Secretary has repeatedly dismissed staff claims and staff are continuing to attend work with increased workloads and high levels of stress.
We are concerned that we will not have a union left to fight for us if the Secretary stays. We know union staff are applying for other jobs because they cannot work for the Secretary in such a toxic environment.
We have no confidence in the General Secretary - Angela Briant - as she is not providing a safe workplace for OUR union office and we fear we will have no representation in our workplaces.
We call on the Union executive to stop the bullying in OUR union office and remove the General Secretary Angela Briant from her position.
We need our Union!!!
