Coach Clay Clevenger was fired today from his head coach position at Danville High School because they needed to take a “different direction “ Clay took over in 2013 and has a 65-32 record, with a 2A runner up in 2016 and an undefeated season in 2017 as well as the state championship! He has produced a Mr. Football as well as most of his players signing on at the college level! He has helped mold some of these young men into the men they are today. He believed in them when they didn’t believe in themselves! It is disgrace to the Danville Schools, players, future players, and community that he was let go in this manner. Danville loses to many good ones to Ego’s and Win’s! Stop and think about the affect its having on the children!
We, the undersigned, ask that you reconsider the firing of Coach Clevenger! Considering what he has produced since 2013 is not a valid reason for “going in a different direction “ and the superintendent and principle who recommended or approved this needs to be looked at as a whole!
