The art students want the Art Department at California State University Long Beach to know we need more than just a "temporary solution" to turning our lockers into a classroom.
Our newly accredited School of the Arts, appears to have little consideration for the storage, transportation, and care of art supplies and assignments.
Artwork is
-stolen if not locked up
-damaged by trying to transport it across campus
-fragile just like any technological or scientific equipment-
it needs secure storage
Art supplies are heavy and can hurt students who have to carry it all over campus.
An Art School should not punish art students for tagging at the hands of those off-campus.
We, the undersigned, call upon CSU Long Beach School of the Arts to bring back our art lockers.
