The last time we checked Cyprus is a sovereign country member of the European Union. NOKIA Corporation under the influence and demands of Turkey IS NOW SUPPORTING TURKEY'S VIEW THAT THIS IS NOT THE CASE AND THAT CYPRUS IS AN ISLAND OF TWO COUNTRIES!

Προσθέτει επίσης πως, «σε ό,τι αφορά τη Νόκια, η πλοήγηση για την Κύπρο δεν θα είναι πλέον εφικτή». Καταλήγοντας, η Νόκια επισημαίνει ότι οι όποιοι παραπονούμενοι πρέπει να απευθυνθούν στις τουρκικές αρχές για το θέμα!"
NOKIA Corporation's position is A CLEAR DISCRIMINATION towards the sovereignty of Cyprus and all Cypriots and their tourists visitors.
During the last few days has become more evident the fact of Nokia Corporation's discriminating nature against Cyprus, an EU member country, and Nokia's demonstration of its politically motivated decision to eliminate all Greek elements noted in its "OVI maps" of Cyprus!
After the news about this discriminating action were revealed, people in Cyprus used to using this already paid service got on the airwaves and internet expressing their anger. One of the internet sites supposedly being open for discussion, criticism and comments on Nokia's products is Nokia's Corporation's "Nokia Support Discussions Forum" stating its commitment to freedom of speech. The news lead to members of the Nokia forum to express their anger on Nokia's action, ONLY for the moderator from Nokia to ban fpr all related comments to this subject! Much to Nokia's claim of impartial freedom of speech!
Effective Nokia's ban, we have started a petition on facebook with the following goals:
1-STOP USING ALL NOKIA PRODUCTS AND DELIVER ALL NOKIA PHONES FOR A PUBLIC DESTRUCTION AS A PROTEST.
2-HAVE OUR GOVERNMENT TO BAN ALL NOKIA PRODUCTS AND SERVICES FROM OUR CYPRUS SOIL.
IT IS ABOUT TIME WE CYPRIOTS TAKE A STAND ON ALL COMPANIES AND BRANDS THAT "WE WILL SUPPORT AND BUY THEIR PRODUCTS ONLY IF THEY SUPPORT US."
Furthermore, the above to be in place until Nokia Corporation reverses its discriminating action against Cyprus forthwith along with the following actions:
1-A PUBLIC APOLOGY TO ALL CYPRIOTS
2-A FINANCIAL DONATION TO A GREEK CYPRIOT NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION OF OUR CHOICE
Join our petition and make a difference showing to Nokia and its alike that the Cypriot consumer has a real powerful voice. We do not need corporations like Nokia, they need us and our money. So, the better act to our satisfaction or we take our money elsewhere.
