Facebook.com is known to be the most famous social media platform, but recently has lost any control on it's content. We are now facing a global emergency because of an outbreak of preventable diseases because of the anti-vaxx movement. This movement gets more members and share most of it's misinformations and fake news through facebook group's pages. Not only this is costing human lifes, but also facebook is the main source of many other fake news. Classic examples is the Multi Level Marketing companies using the platform to scam people and increase their scheme by spreading misinformations. This is too much, the website needs control over the content that is spreading. While on other platform like Twitter or Youtube you can find useful and real facts while doing your research and be faced with the reality, facebook only shows the groups you are part with, keeping only the misinformations spread.
We, the undersigned, call on the UN to put a stop to the increasing spread of misinformation via the social platform facebook.com because it is costing human lives. Children lives. This is the result of parents stuck on a website full of fake news and group's pages that only make misinformations go around it, like the risk of vaccinations. It spreads without control fake news about essential oils that MLM (Multi Level Marketing Companies) use in other to scam and ruin people's life with brainwashing fake news. It cost the lives of many. People convinced of the most absurd things because of the misinformation being used like facts and only proof, making people trust a picture posted by an admin of a Facebook page, more than a scientific approved study.
