The Nova Scotia Government has denied Auditor General Jacques Lapointe’s attempt to access more than $250-million in taxpayer-funded handouts to businesses and corporations over the past year.

What is the government hiding? The Industrial Expansion Fund and Nova Scotia Business Inc provide loans and subsidies to businesses on a regular basis. Is the government using these programs for political purposes?

The Government’s denial of data pertaining to the spending of a quarter of a billion dollars in business loans and subsidies is a slap in the face to accountability in this Province. This government continues to betray the public trust by withholding information on taxpayer-funded business hand-outs and we must stand up against it!

We, the undersigned, demand that the Government of Nova Scotia release information requested by the Auditor General pertaining to taxpayer-funded handouts to businesses and corporations through the Industrial Expansion Fund and Nova Scotia Business Incorporated.
