I purpose that any landowner who has illegally allowed the removal of a ancient monument from their property should have that property removed.
Eg. if a cairn is removed of demolished in a farmers field, then that field will become the property of the Irish government.
The current system of fining the landowner does not work as the fine can easily be paid of by the income of the cleared land. The threat of imprisonment has never been utilized so is not taken seriously
We the undersigned support the motion that if a ancient monument is removed or demolished from a landowners field that field is forfeited to the Irish government
