Historically, the Town of Edgewood's governing board members (Mayors/Councilors) allowed your elected officials to add agenda items to Town meetings so topics could be discussed and acted upon. In 2004, the Mayor and Council passed Resolution 2004-07 which specifically allows individual members of the governing body to add agenda items (which may only be removed with their express permission). This is so they can represent YOU THE PEOPLE.
Unfortunately, Bassett/Abrams/Holle have refused to allow agenda items they do not agree with, severely limiting action and your elected Councilors Abraham/Jaramillo in representing the Citizens of Edgewood! Even with Affidavits from former Mayors and Councilors stating the clear (legislative branch) intent and a District Court Judge's (judicial branch) ORDER, Abrams/Holle are fighting this public representation. They have appealed the Judge's decision.
We, the undersigned, call on Councilors John Abrams and Linda Holle to do their lawful duty of enforcing Resolution 2004-07 without personal or political bias.
We, the undersigned, call upon Abrams/Holle to follow the Judge's ORDER and stop spending Edgewood Citizen's taxpayer dollars to fight this common sense ruling and Allow Agenda Items since our elected officials and their agenda item requests represent WE THE PEOPLE.
