All UCP candidates must pledge to add medical history to the Alberta Bill of Rights. Once they assume office, they must put forward a bill making it illegal to discriminate against someone based on their medical history.

The following are the proposed amendments:

"It is hereby recognized and declared that in Alberta there exist without discrimination by reason of race, national origin, colour, religion, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity or gender expression, [medical history], the following human rights and fundamental freedoms, namely:

(a) the right of the individual to liberty, security of the person and enjoyment of property, and the right not to be deprived thereof except by due process of law;
(b) the right of the individual to equality before the law and the protection of the law;
(c) freedom of religion;
(d) freedom of speech;
(e) freedom of assembly and association;
(f) freedom of the press;
(g) the right of parents to make informed decisions respecting the education of their children.
(h) [the right of patients to make informed medical decisions without coercion]

We, the undersigned, call upon all United Conservative Party candidates to pledge that upon assuming office, a bill which makes it illegal to discriminate based on ones medical history, will be put forward; this will included an amendment to the Alberta Bill of Rights.
