Canadian campaigner Samantha Woolley has reported a successful campaign outcome:

"Thank you to everyone who signed this petition, and another thank you to those who have spread the word about it to others. The petition was a success! County Council have decided to keep the 42 turtle crossing signs that are up right now, and they will only put up new signs if the area is a protected provincially important wetland. Thanks again!"

Her campaign note explained:

"In 2001 a group called Kids 4 Turtles raised $4000 to put up turtle crossing signs. Signs reduce turtle road kill by 30 per cent.

Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre (a local organization in Peterborough) has been working for five years to try and build awareness regarding the plight of turtles in Ontario and to provide hospital care for turtles that have been hit by vehicles."

Samantha has thanked GoPetition.com,

"This site was very helpful. The word about my petition got out fast and it was easily accessible. It was very simple and easy to create and maintain the petition."

Congratulations Samantha.
