Remaining a "Single-Family Residential' and "Duplex Residential" Zone

For the pass two years it has been nearly impossible for residents on 5st and 27ave to enter their homes/ exit their homes due to the overwhelming amount of cars/traffic trying to enter the Miami Dade Community College parking lot.

Miami Dade Community College as now extended their parking lot by purchasing approximately eight homes 2508, 2524, 2534, 2538, 2590, 2600, 2610 and 2620 Southwest 5th street, Miami, Florida. Miami Dade Community College is now petitioning to build a parking garage with multiples levels where the homes listed above once stood. Across the one level parking garage that has recently been constructed still remain residential homes, where families try to live there daily lives and go on with usual activities.

Unfortunately it has been difficult to do so, with the significant amount of incoming traffic, late night yelling from students within the parking garage and a terribly exceedingly amount of honking at all hours of the night and day. If Miami Dade Community College is granted the right build. It will change our "Single-Family Residential' and "Duplex Residential" Zone to a "Major Institutional, Public Facilities, Transportation and Utilities" Zone, taking away the rights of the residents who have lived on Southwest 5th Street for more then 19 years. We the residents and members of the community ask you not to grant the petition of rezoning Southwest 5st street from "Single-Family Residential' and "Duplex Residential" Zone to a "Major Institutional, Public Facilities, Transportation and Utilities" Zone. Allowing us to remain a "Single-Family Residential' and "Duplex Residential" Zone will help us keep the value of our homes and the safety for our children, which the members of the community have worked hard for over several years.
