Me and my friends won't to be able to longboard in the streets close to where we live because someone called with one complaint.
When we long-board we look both ways for people and traffic. It's safer in the street rather than the sidewalk.

3. Save the Burton Street Traders
The Street Traders in Station Street Burton have been in place since the 1980s. There are currently 5 successful small business' operating on the street.
The Council has cut the number of pitches available to 3 - and is opening up bidding for those 3 pitches to traders from elsewhere, and have explicitly advertised the pitches in the Leicester Murcury.
The Petition has been set up in order to tell ESBC that the people of Burton want the current traders to be guaranteed a place under the new scheme, and any new traders should have new pitches created for them.
4. Petition to change Coronation Street's storyline on Alzheimer's
ITV's Coronation Street are currently running a storyline on Alzheimer's. They have disregarded those sufferers of Alzheimer's who are in the early stages of the illness and are able to follow the programme.
The storyline includes Eileen and Paul having an affair as Paul's wife Lesley has Alzheimer's. Their portrayal of Alzheimers is bad enough but that added affair is just awful for sufferers to watch. This storyline is worrying for Alzheimer's sufferers and I have had personal experience of this as my mother suffers from the illness. She is concerned that this will happen to her further on down the line of the illness and this is causing her extra stress as well as having the illness.
It is breaking our family's heart watching this storyline unfold and because routine is vital to Alzheimer's sufferers it is not a simple case of just stopping her from watching Coronation street. I have already written to Coronation Street who have replied to with no help. They basically said that they had more to explore with Alzheimer's and that their research was good enough which is not the case.
Please sign this petition in order to get Coronation Street to change the storyline so that Alzheimer's sufferers are more at ease and for the families of those involved.
5. Campaign for Better Safer Roads in the Vale of Glamorgan
Roads in the Vale area are a disgrace, uneven road surfaces, multitude of potholes, poor road surfacing and poor road markings. Shoddy repairs make our roads look like patchwork quilts.
The cost to local residents in extra repairs of their cars that are affected by poor roads is ever increaseing. Recently councillors wasted a huge amount of £'s on Thompson Street in Barry, a road that was already in fairly good condition. The money could have been better spent on roads such as Princess Street which has been in a dreadful state for a long time.
We pay enough local and national taxes to use the roads but get little in return, money needs to be spent to bring our roads up to a acceptable standard. It‘s time our elected officials took action to resolve this issue to the satisfaction of those who elected them, afterall they are there to serve us aren’t they?
6. End Homelessness by having a Homeless Awareness day in schools
I have seen homeless people on the street, but I never give them money because of fear that they would spend it on drugs and alcohol. This is not to due to prejudice at all; I would not give any stranger money because of this fear.
Homeless people are still people! One of the reasons why people are homeless is because they do not want to have to go into shelter because they do not want to lose their dogs. The answer to this would be to create more dog-friendly homeless shelters where the people have their own rooms where the dogs can be kept in to stop the risk of allergy in the other people. Another reason why people are homeless is due to not having enough money to afford household costs.
The answer to this too would be to use old buildings where possible and to build new homeless shelters, as well as to reduce household costs. Another common reason is due to family problems such as divorces and abuse. The solution to many of these domestic problems would be to promote the charity Samaritans more so that they can talk to these people.
If we do not help the homeless, they will be less inclined to want to help us if we ever need help for them. Also, we need to consider the people themselves as well. How would you like to have to sleep on a pavement all night and eat scraps and cheap food for your only meals?
As well as this, animal welfare may also suffer because they may sometimes get an even worse deal. This is not the homeless people's fault. Rather it is because they cannot afford good food and veterinary treatment for their dogs and live too far away from clinics that offer free animal health care.
In my vision, Homeless Awareness day would involve people from homeless charities coming around to different schools and collecting money as well as people who have been homeless before coming to do talks and answer students' questions about what it's like to live on the streets.
7. Oppose the Cuba Street Towers
The enormous towers that have been planned for the Cuba Street site are too large.
The site is too small and too cramped. The towers are too tall and the density is too high (as per the council's own planning guidance).
8. Petition To Switch Street Lights Back On
This petition is to ask the Government to Turn Street Lights Back On!
[1] – Situation
I am petitioning to ask the Government to get Street Lights turned back on because I feel that by turning them off in certain areas will have a negative impact on Crime Prevention, Well-being of Vulnerable People and the safety of Residential Areas. I feel that should Street Lights not be turned back on there will be a rise in Crime, which will impact on the Residential Areas. Therefore, causing risks to the Safety and Well-being of Public and the Local Residents.
[2] – Suggestions
I feel that the Government needs to analyse information on whether or not they are turning off lights in areas which could pose a Higher Threat to Vulnerable People. The Government should also take into account the layout of the Street Lighting and form a Risk Assessment on whether or not there is still adequate Street Lighting in that area for the Public and Residents who live there. Furthermore, the Government needs to think about consulting with its Constituencies as after all this would aid Community Cohesion which would be a Big Help! To David Cameron's 'Big Society'. Surely by just turning them off without notice on the community is damaging to the idea of 'Big Society', which is supposed to be all in favour of Local Communities coming together and having a say in what they want to happen in their town.
[3] – Why should these suggestions be taken into consideration?
These considerations should be taken into consideration because without adequate Street Lighting it will have problematic affects in these key areas;
Crime – This will mean more work for the Police Force, which will then mean that more money is spent on Policing the streets instead of it being used for the regeneration of towns, thus meaning it will have an impact on a towns Historical Aspects.
Public Safety – With the rise in threats on crime, this would then impact on Public Safety and Local Residents within each area. Therefore affect the emotional well-being of the Public going out at night, which would then affect the emotional well-being of vulnerable people. Moreover, with the rising threats in Terrorism as such this would pose an even Higher Risk to Public Safety and Local Residents.
9. Allow Sophie's Cafe to have a Patio with Street Furniture
Sophie's cafe wants to have some street patio seating for her customers, as well as for others in the community.
This corner of Logan avenue and Queen Street East, the south-east corner, is an eyesore, and sophie and her husband and the owner of the building wish to make some street sidewalk improvements, that include some planters, café seating and other street furniture that will help to beautify the neighbourhood.
This would allow the patrons of Sophie’s Café and others to sit and enjoy their coffee or desserts, and be part of a vibrant street life which is just what many businesses and residents have been doing to bring a fresh new vitality to the east part of queen street from broadwview to coxwell. This little part of our town called Leslieville.
Sophie applied to the City of Toronto Municipal Licensing and Standards department requesting an application for sidewalk/boulevard café (Application – file #B066635), asking for these privileges along with some concept ideas for improvement of this corner. A decision on April 21, 2010 was rendered denying their application. (See attached refusal letter from Bruce Robertson’s office).
We the undersigned believe that these improvements would be a significant improvement to this corner of logan and queen. We believe that the addition of street furniture and café seating/tables will add to Sophie’s Café a place for people to site and enjoy their coffee and desserts and not adversely impact the adjoining residential buildings, as there will be no smoking or alcohol beverages, and we support reversing the City’ decision.

10. P.A.R.C. in Peace Petition
P.A.R.C. is a group of residents living near Yankee Stadium, in the Bronx N.Y., who are petitioning the Bronx Borough President, Ruben Diaz Jr. and Mayor Bloomberg to issue residential parking permits to certified local residents. These parking permits would allow residents within a 10 block radius of Yankeee Stadium to have the exclusive right to park within this area on home game days and other events held at Yankee Stadium. Yankee fans are welcome to park in the numerous Yankee parking lots or father away from the stadium.
As a result, residents in the area would park worry free and the city would create more revenue from the parking lots they already have in the area. Thus, with residential parking permits residents can also enjoy Yankee home games and other events held at Yankee Stadium, and the city can get a greater return on their investment.
Residents should not have to worry about finding parking after coming home tired from a long day of work or school. Residents should not have to spend a hour or more looking for parking where they live. Residents should not have to sacrifice their quality of life for Yankee home games, or any other Yankee Stadium event.
11. Install Speed Humps On Spring Street, Bloomfield, New Jersey
Speed humps should be installed on Spring Street in Bloomfield, New Jersey to prevent vehicles from speeding. Vehicles frequently travel at high rates of speed, creating a danger to pedestrians, children and pets.
Spring Street is a dead end street with heavy traffic located behind Foley Field. Although there is no posted speed limit, pursuant to state law (N.J.S.A. 39:4-98) drivers of vehicles are not permitted to exceed twenty-five miles per hour.
Unfortunately, the speed limit is regularly ignored. Speed humps are an effective way to encourage drivers to obey the law, and to drive at safe speeds.
12. Save our Pride, Save our Pool
A once proud and thriving cultural development venue, the Lawrence Street Recreation Center has been neglected by the city for years.
While municipal projects went forward elsewhere, our African-American families stood to lose generations of tradition with activities already diminished by the lack of appropriate funding where it is needed most.
Swimming is not only fun, but also a safety skill that disproportionately affects African-Americans from a history that needs no clarification. It is time for Lawrence Street Recreation Center to be re-developed with a full set of amenities of a first class, indoor facility.
We realize that Lawrence Street recreational facility is vital to all citizens of Marietta regardless of race or color, even though it is the African American community that has sought to initiate this endeavor, all are welcome to join.
Note: Cullen Jones, was only the second African-American to ever win a swimming gold medal even though black people are less than 1% of the competitive swimmers. It can't change by closing pools and closing opportunities in our own neighborhoods.
Sign this petition and tell the city that we are not only going to be counted in the Census, but also in our local government on every issue from now on, starting with this one.

14. Petition for the addition of Mechanical Sweeping
Although we are a commercially zoned area, many transient people live on neighboring streets and in encampments. As a result our streets and gutters accumulate human waste, urine, needles, used condoms, hair, clothing, vomit, oil spills, paper & plastic debris.
Because the storm drains are clogged with trash we also have as much as a foot of standing water throughout the winter months.This all Results in a horrible public health hazard and a burden for the businesses owners, workers, and delivery couriers.
We need regular mechanical street cleaning as soon as possible.
15. Support Speed bump's on Winchester Street
I've created this petition because I was nearly ran over on Winchester Street and have witnessed so many times the dangerous driving and just seen the road being used as a race course.
There have been numerous incidents on the road and it's not long until there is a serious incident. So I need as many people as possible to sign my petition and support me!

17. Support zoning for expansion of community facilities by New Hope United Church of Christ
The City od Norfolk is trying to rezone property located at 115 E. Liberty Street. The property is currently zoned as Commercial and they are trying to rezone it to Residential for the purpose of building eight (8) single family homes.
The rezoning of this property will prevent the future expansion of New Hope United Church of Christ.

Motke Blum was sitting in his small studio in Jerusalem's Hutzot Hayotzer Street about a month ago when the street was suddenly flooded with bodyguards, followed by former U.S. president Bill Clinton. Clinton surprised the 85-year-old Blum when he entered the picture-laden studio and asked to buy two works. "I gave him a good price," Blum laughed.
On Sunday, Blum got another, less pleasant surprise: a letter informing him that the contract for the studio he has rented for the past 40 years will be up on January 1, and he is required to leave it "vacant of any person or object."
"Why are they doing this to me?" he demanded agitatedly. "I never did anything bad to anyone. At that moment I asked the Creator to allow me to curse as I have not cursed for 40 years." Blum's wife and daughter tried to calm him down, but they were upset, too.
"You don't do something like this after 40 years," said his daughter, Anat. "He's a Holocaust survivor; something bad could happen to him."
All 27 artists on Hutzot Hayotzer ("Arts and Crafts Lane"), which is near Jaffa Gate, received identical letters. The letters came from the East Jerusalem Development Company, owned by the Jerusalem Municipality and the Tourism Ministry.
The company, which has managed the site since it was founded in 1969, said it has to renovate the area and has issued a tender for each of the studios.
The letters said that because of the tenants' "special situation," they can have another three months to organize for departure.
But the shocked artists, most of whom have been there for decades, are planning a public and legal battle against the demand to vacate the premises.
Most Jerusalemites know Hutzot Hayotzer for the annual crafts fair that takes over the lane and the surrounding area for 10 days or so each summer.
But the lane is open all year round, though it does not get many visitors - certainly not compared to the Old City markets or the new, adjacent Mamilla pedestrian mall, visited by thousands every day.
The idea of establishing an artists' quarter on the site - which was no-man's land when Jerusalem was divided - was raised by mayor Teddy Kollek shortly after the Six-Day War. Blum was the first artist to move into a studio on the street, along with weaver George Goldstein.
"This was to be a place where people could come and see artists at work, an invaluable place of culture," Goldstein said. "This is not a mall."
Strolling along, it is hard to understand how this lane, lined with small stone buildings climbing upward toward the Old City walls, did not become a touristic gem. Some of the workshops look more like storerooms, stuffed to the gills with works of art, while others are prestigious Judaica or jewelry shops.
Goldstein weaves his rugs on huge wooden looms that take up most of the space, and it is difficult to picture how and to where they will be moved. Most of the artists, especially the older ones, said that if they have to leave, they will abandon their art.
"This is the only thing there is," Judaica artist Zelig Segal said. "As is, it's hard for me because of my health. I'll have a problem continuing somewhere else."
Attorney Reuven Yehoshua, who is representing Segal against the East Jerusalem Development Company, said that "everyone should be outraged."
"This is an arbitrary decision that will destroy the last remnant of culture and art in Jerusalem," he said.
Even the artists agree the place needs sprucing up. Hardly a soul can be seen in the lane most of the day. The artists blame the development company for not advertising, and for poor parking and upkeep.
Still, some of the most interesting artists in the country work here. Segal is currently creating a monument for the Knesset square; Goldstein wove rugs for the President's Residence. Others are unknown outside of Jerusalem.
East Jerusalem Development Company CEO Gideon Shamir admitted that there is still no plan for the lane.
Rumor among the artists has it that it will be connected to a big park planned for the area.
"This is a wonderful place that is not living up to its potential," Shamir said. "The goal is to upgrade it from a touristic and economic perspective, to bring in more income than what it does now. The law requires a tender for each of the shops. The current tenants can submit a bid.
19. Give us access to Finsbury Park
In a City the size of London, the Underground system is the quickest way to get around and we are disappointed with the Mayor's decision to shelve 22 of the 45 planned step free access projects across London only committing himself to providing step-free access at 29 per cent of all stations by 2017. This is a major step back from previous plans to provide step-free access on a third of the network by 2013. As a result, many disabled passengers, older people and parents with young children are being denied access to this mode of transport. This is particularly concerning in the run up to the 2012 Paralympics and makes us wonder how the Mayor is planning to keep his post-Beijing pledge to make London’s Games the most accessible ever.
It makes little sense that Finsbury Park, where the current 49.1m passenger journeys a year are likely to increase by 40% over the next 15 years, is not being made step-free whilst Kingsbury and Amersham, both serving less than one tenth of Finsbury Park’s passengers, are being made accessible. We believe that money would be better spend on projects in areas where a larger number of people would benefit.
The decision makes even less sense because Network is going ahead with plans to provide step-free access from the overground platforms to street level at Finsbury Park. It has now given Transport for London and the Mayor until the autumn to change their minds on working together to make Finsbury Park step-free.
These are the reasons why we (Jeremy Corbyn MP, Jennette Arnold AM, local councillors, the Islington Disability Network, Islington Mobility Forum and Transport for All) are working together to collect as many signatures to pass to the Mayor to convince him to change his mind. If you agree that Finsbury Park Underground station should be made accessible to all passengers then please sign this petition. We are aiming to hand the petition over to the Mayor in the Autumn.

20. Allow the property at the southern end of Center Street, to be converted into a "Dog Park"
In an effort to provide a safe area for the many dogs (and their owners) in my neighborhood to run, walk and play, without the worry of being hit by a motor vehicle. There are no sidewalks in our neighborhood to walk you pet safely. The property at the southern end of Center Street has been vacant since the demolition of the First Aid building, many years ago.
Only until just recently, the property has been excavated and refilled with raw material which was dredged from one of the lagoons in Beach Haven West.
This property would be ideal for a "Dog Park"! Please consider this petition and the reasons surrounding it. Our communities safety is at risk!
21. Amend an appeal process for all Ontario Highway Traffic Act infractions
Did you know that the Police in Ontario, Canada have the power to impound your vehicle and suspend your license without any form of appeal process? This in turn will raise your insurance rates, cause you to pay fees to reinstate your license, cause you to pay fees to recover your vehicle from the impound lot (and don't forget the towing of your vehicle there!) and possibly cause you credit and employment problems in the future. Yes, it's true!
All of this because there is no court date, no appeal and no due process for many offences under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario! It's your word against the Police. You have NO rights! This quote is taken directly from the Highway Traffic Act:
"No appeal or hearing
(9) There is no appeal from, or right to be heard before, the suspension of a driver’s licence..."
How is this possible? Where do we live? Read the Act for yourself, you may just be surprised in what you find out. Many acts have been amended and changed in the last year that revoke many of your rights as a citizen of Canada (or Ontario?).

22. Improved Street Lighting - Primrose Estate - Ecclesfield - Sheffield
The Primrose Estate in Ecclesfield, Sheffield, South Yorkshire is an estate where the people have been forgotten. The people who live there work hard to earn a living, they pay their taxes and look after the area where they live.
Unfortunately this means that they are often overlooked when it comes to local authority resources. Sadly,the area is now falling victim to criminal activity.
One of the reasons that this is happening is because the street lighting installations are approaching 50 years old. The lamps fail to offer adequate lighting and allow criminals to damage vehicles and other property at will, without any fear of detection.
The people of the Primrose estate demand that their collective voice be heard.
We demand that our taxes be used to fund something that not only benefits us, but is NEEDED by us.
We demand that the street lighting is replaced, AND REPLACED NOW.

24. Bring Tokio Hotel To Australia

The 'Butty Bar +' was subject to a compulsory purchase order some 5 years (approx 2003). As such it was purchased by the North West Regional Development Agency, with the understanding that it would be demolished shortly afterwards.
The intention of this was to remove the building and use the space it occupies to create something environmentally enriching and more in keeping with the area.
Ancoats is an area of huge investment, and one of Conservation. Despite this the 'Butty Bar +' is still standing to this date with no plans for demolition or improvements on the table. The building is now in an ever failing state of repair and the car-park is generally full of litter etc.
The aim of this petition is to show the NWrDA that local residents consider this building to be a detraction from the conservation area that is Ancoats, and that definitive action needs to be taken to demolish the building and replace with something appropriate.
In the short term we also propose that the NWrDA tidy up the building and its surrounding land.

Hello Phill,
I've made enquiries about the building on Pickford Street. My colleagues in New East Manchester's have updated me on the proposals for this building.
You are no doubt already aware that the building is in the Ancoats conservation area. A policy is in place that prevents demolition of buildings until a future use for the site has been identified and the resources necessary have been secured. Recently however NWDA drew up a list of a number of building it felt warranted demolition even if a permanent future use has not been identified. The former sandwich shop on Pickford Street was one of these and the case for it's demolition has been accepted. In fact it was the only one on the list that was. The short-term intention will be to demolish the building, and tarmac over and secure with drop down bollards and boundary treatment. This will significantly reduce the level and range of antisocial behaviour and other activity you referred to in your email.
NWDA are to submit a planning application to Manchester City Council's Planning Department soon. Residents in the immediate area should receive notice of this, providing more details. It is estimated that, subject to planning approval, the start on site for demolition will be in around 6 months time.
Furthermore Christine Pulford, the Street Environment Manager has made a visit to the site this morning and requested that both NWDA (owners of the former sandwich shop) and Braemar (your managing agent) take action to clear of the litter she found on both sites. Christine will continue to monitor sites in and around Ancoats and report/request clean up as and when identified. Residents reporting issues however will assist her in this task. I would like to thank you therefore for bringing this to my attention.

26. DEMAND an end to any and all deficit spending
As President Ronald Reagan once said "You and I are told we must choose between a left, or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down."
We at "Let's Get this Right" agree with that statement and we recognize that the US economy is in enormous trouble. This includes Wall Street, the US Government, and every American living on main-street; no one is immune to the impact of the current economic situation.
When Wall Street needs help it turns to the government, when the government needs help it turns to the American people and when the American people need help, it is often too late for us to obtain help because the government has already over spent the tax dollars, fees and fines it collects as part of its daily function.
When it needs money for a spending bill, or a financial bailout, the government either cuts spending somewhere, shifts spending temporarily, raises taxes on the American people or simply prints more money.
27. Grayling Drive To Grayling Court
There has been a long debate about the location of the entrance way to the new condominium complex to be built by Daniels LR Corporation.
This complex will house 100 Residential Units at 233 Duskywing Way and its entry way is situated at the southern end of Grayling Drive.
Grayling Drive curb to curb measures approximately 762cm and Duskywing Way measures approximately 767cm.
Grayling Drive has only one sidewalk on the west side of the street and cannot safely handle the obvious increased traffic from both building trucks and the new homeowners of the condominium complex at 233 Duskywing Way.
28. No to Inappropriate Redevelopment of St Alphage House in the City of London for JPMorgan
JPMorgan Chase is working in partnership with property development company Hammersons and the City of London Corporation to create a 950,000 sq ft building on a relatively small site in the City of London which immediately adjoins the residential Barbican Estate, home to some 5,000 people, and a Grade II listed building.
If approved, the JP Morgan office block be the largest building in the City and will completely overshadow and wall-in the Eastern side of the Barbican.
Currently the site contains generous open space and public gardens, raised above the ground, with interconnecting pedestrian bridges. These walkways form several access routes to the Barbican, which keep pedestrians away from the noise and hazards of London Wall - a major East-West traffic artery through central London. The proposed scheme will remove these, and create a somewhat smaller park at ground level immediately next to this busy road.
What are currently pleasant and safe pedestrian-only routes will be replaced by busy street-level crossings and streetside pavements. It will close and also build over an ancient city street - Fore Street - creating a large and impermeable block in the heart of the City.
29. Re-open Jumpin Jaks Gloucester
In 2006 “The Best Party in Town” or as it was more commonly known “Jumpin Jaks” in Gloucester ceased its operations. For so many people in Gloucester, JJ's was known for its great party atmosphere, especially to the older generations and those who fancied a change from the other clubs on offer.
Over the past two years, the number of people actively clubbing in Gloucester has risen significantly. As a result of this, we have seen numerous major UK chain bars and restaurants make their move to Gloucester. Most notably, Lloyds No.1 Bar, J.D Wetherspoons and Varsity. Many of Gloucester’s nightclubs have also had major refits during this time to cater for the ever increasing number of people, wishing to make use of their facilities.
Having visited other Jumpin Jak’s locations, it is clear that the brand’s image is still very strong, most noticeably in Cardiff, thanks to its excellent entertainment team. This is something that could definitely be brought to Gloucester.
What Gloucester is also currently lacking are student nights. Jumpin Jaks would instantly produce an attractive venue for students throughout both Gloucester and Cheltenham and with the proposed build of a new campus for Gloucestershire University, the city will see hundreds of new students living in Gloucester by 2012.
The 3D-Entertainment Group currently owns and operates the "Envy-Lansons" Nightclub on Quay Street, Gloucester which is due to become a "Studio 25" very soon. Ideally it would be more beneficial if both "Studio 25" and "Jumpin Jaks" were to exist in the city. However given the choice, the "Jaks" location would probably be favored over that of "Envy-Lansons" by the general public and so it has been suggested that an option could exist by which trade is ceased at the "Envy-Lansons", Quay street location and moved to the old "Jumpin Jaks" site on Brunswick Road.
The Jumpin Jaks site is currently still being marketed for sale on a freehold basis and has planning permission for a complete demolition, so any action would need to be taken before the site gets snapped up by another retailer!
The aim of this petition is to show the owners of the “Jumpin Jaks” brand that the people of Gloucester need a new nightclub which caters for all kinds of people and gives them a place to party each and every weekend. The memories that so many people share could once again be brought alive!
30. No To Building Laundry Mat in a Residential Area
Over the past 6 years, we have lived in a calm and peaceful residential area. Many of our neighbors have made wonderful changes to their homes which has made our community here around Bissell Street seem more lively and friendly. Most importantly violence free. We live in a residential area.
Lets get together and keep it that way. Lets not allow anyone come build a laundry mat which will change it all for many of us. Some of our neighbors would be forced to move if we allow this to happen, our street will not longer be a residential area. We would be exposing ourselves to losing the safety of our community.
