Support Free Speech at school

I have written this petition because you have been unfair to your students. Trying to take away what we have been saying since we were little. You have wronged us by doing this. We don’t need to be written up for saying retarded. That’s ridiculous and you know it. Are you trying to prove something? Are you trying to prove that you can control us? I wrote this to tell you that we want to say that again. Why don’t you ban smoking or actually people who have foul mouths? That might be nice.

We say retarded because it’s the only thing we can say without talking trash. We said it before high school; we probably said it in kindergarten, so why were we not written up back then?

So soon if we speak our minds we would get written up? Is that what it’s coming to? Isn’t it a free country where we can freely speak our minds?

Madison one of our founding fathers, said in front of the House of Representatives “The people shall not be deprived or abridged of their right to speak, to write, or to publish their sentiments.” And you are depriving us of our right to speak. It may offend some, but everything offends someone no matter what we do.

Haven’t you heard of the concept of “self-realizations,” the belief that free speech enables the individual to develop his (or her) powers and abilities and to make and influence decisions on regarding his (or her) life?
