Despite the Canadian dollar achieving parity with the American dollar, the prices of new automobiles in Canada are still 10 to 25% more.
In the early 2000’s when the Canadian dollar was at an all time low, the industry changed their prices quickly, but now that within the last 2-4 years, the Canadian dollar has been strong, the industry is slow to change their prices.
This petition is against the price disparity of purchasing a vehicle in Canada, and the same exact vehicle in the United States.
Those who sign this are in effect saying that they will boycott purchasing a new vehicle from a Canadian dealership until said disparity is lowered.
