For decades Pascagoula High School students have walked the War Memorial Stadium at graduation time, and for 12 years, the Class of 2018 has believed that they would do the same. Recently Pascagoula-Gautier School District has decided to take this privilege from us with no explanation. They have stated that we will be traveling to the Biloxi Coliseum to graduate. We, the Class of 2018, are working to make sure the tradition of walking at War Memorial Stadium is preserved for years to come.
We, the undersigned, citizens of Pascagoula, petition the School Board of the Pascagoula- Gautier School District to hold 2018 Graduation Ceremonies for Pascagoula High School at War Memorial Stadium.
Pascagoula High School, which will have a new field in August 2017, has a long and proud tradition of holding graduation at War Memorial Stadium spanning decades. To the contrary, neither Pascagoula High School nor its’ students have a connection to the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
We ask that you reconsider this decision and bring Pascagoula High School Graduation back home in 2018 for the students and their families.
