Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an American television series that aired from March 10, 1997, until May 20, 2003.

The series was created in 1997 by writer-director Joss Whedon under his production tag, Mutant Enemy Productions with later co-executive producers being Jane Espenson, David Fury, David Greenwalt, Doug Petrie, Marti Noxon, and David Solomon.

The series received critical and popular acclaim and usually reached between four and six million viewers on original airings. Although such ratings are lower than successful shows on the "big four" networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox), they were a success for the relatively new and smaller WB Television Network.
Sarah Michelle Gellar received a Golden Globe-nomination for Best Actress in a TV Series-Drama., The series was both nominated and won in the Drama Category for Television's Most Memorable Moment at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards for "The Gift" beating The X-Files, Grey's Anatomy, Brian's Song and Dallas, although the sequence for this award was not aired.

We've sat through all the shows made possible by BtVS paving the way.

From Dark Angel to Vampire Diaries and the agony of the Twilight Series, we've waited patiently, knowing that there can be only one; The Chosen One.

Bring back Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
