Dear Board Of Education,

We are two of the many students attending Highland Park Highschool. It is currently our second year of highschool students which make us sophmores. We are writing you to express our opposition to the number of low electives that we have at our school. There are many more offers but we only have two. How do you expect us to learn? How can we progress with only two electives? Are we really going to be ready for college? We are going to be surrounded by others who have had many electives at their school and have the experience of many opportunities and choices. We only have two ways to go so we're basically stuck.

What do we do after we've taken these classes once, maybe twice times before? Taking them again wont change anything so why cant we have other choices? why aren't we equal? This isn't a letter to hurt you, its one to inform you. We're a team, a city , we should all come together and help out the kids of the community that attend this school. Not only do we want these nice things but we need them! Think about this, if we don't get them, and continue to re-take gym and chior over, then what do we really stand for as people of this city?

We the students at Highland Park community high school feel that more electives are needed.

Currently hear at our school, there are only 2 elective classes, in which we have to repeat over for our junior and senior years to come. Speech; Debate; Home Ed; Computer Networking; Graphic Communication; Drama; Computer Programming; and Fine Arts are classes we don’t have. We feel as if were not getting the same opportunity to get more electives like other schools.
