Little Britain Anglers are asking for all Anglers and also members of the public to sign this petition in regards to laws needing changing and updating for stiffer penalties on pollution incidents on Rivers and Waterways and any fines awarded also include damages for pollution done and this is paid to the waterway and rivers affected for environmental improvements also fish stock is provided to the same amount in weight that has been lost.
All pollution fines are given and divided between agencies clean up costs and the rest goes to the Government at the moment and not given to the individual waterway or river that has been polluted or affected this is what has happened on past pollution incidents as far as we are aware.

Tesco fined £8m over 'massive' pollution incident-The leak in July 2014 resulted in residents being taken ill with headaches and sickness and killed fish in local waterways.
Water company fined £20 million for polluting River Thames-Raw sewage got into the watercourse at Arborfield, Henley-on-Thames and four other sites
these are just two fines that were given out with no knowledge of where the money is distributed.
These are just two media reports but there are many more pollution incidents some that only get a Category warning from the E.A. with no results of damage done to the environment, Waterways, Rivers, Flora and Fauna resulting in these taking many years to recover.

We the undersigned call on the government/house of parliament to change the Laws concerning any pollution incidents that affect the rivers and waterways, that either a minimal Category warning which should receive some form of fine for cost of improvements or correcting the incident or an incident that has gone to court that any monies awarded should be distributed within and too the incident area for recovery work and environmental improvements such as Flora ad Fauna , Fish stocking and water quality improvements.
