- UK Environment Minister
- United Kingdom
Its time to stop pouring waste oil into landfill and down the drain. This waste problem could be made into a resource. The UK produces over 200,000 tons of waste cooking oil per year (www.mdpi.com/1996-1073/1/1/3/pdf).
Waste oil can be filtered and used directly as a fuel without the need for extra energy in processing. Although it will only provide a small percentage of the countries fuel needs it will also save on landfill and make waste water treatment less costly.
Please see http://www.shortcircuit.com.au/warfa/paper/paper.htm for more information.
We the undersigned are calling for a national UK policy on waste vegetable oil recycling.
We are asking for recycling points and home collection schemes to work alongside other recycling initiatives.
This petition will be delivered to the UK environment minister the week before the Copenhagen conference, which starts on the 7th December 2009.
The Waste Vegetable Oil Recycling petition to UK Environment Minister was written by Chris Kennett and is in the category Environment at GoPetition.
